Two Sunday quotes

Psalms 83 and 84:

Sunday quote 1:
O God, do not keep silence;
do not hold your peace or be still, O God!

Psalm 83: 1

Sunday quote 2:

My soul longs, indeed it faints for the courts of the Lord;

.....
For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than live in the tents of wickedness.

Psalm 84: 1, 10

Up to my neck

Psalms 68 and 69:
Sunday quote
I sink in deep mire,
where there is no foothold;
I have come into deep waters,
and the flood sweeps over me.
I am weary with my crying;
my throat is parched.
My eyes grow dim
with waiting for my God.
Psalm 69: 2-3

Sunday quote

Psalms 39 and 40.
Lord, let me know my end,
and what is the measure of my days;
let me know how fleeting my life is.
You have made my days a few handbreadths,
and my lifetime is as nothing in your sight.
Surely everyone stands as a mere breath.
Psalm 39: 4,5

Sunday quote

Readings: Psalms 25 and 26.
Quote for today:
Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love,
for they have been from old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love
remember me,
for your goodness' sake, O Lord!
Psalm 25: 6,7

The more things change, the more they stay the same

A quote from my reading of Psalm 11 and 12:
Help, O, Lord, for there is no longer anyone who is godly;
the faithful have disappeared from humankind.
They utter lies to each other;
with flattering hearts and a double heart they speak (12:1-2).
You, O Lord will protect us,
you will guard us from this generation forever (12.7).
Note: On Sundays, I'm taking a pause from blogging, so I'm only posting a quote.
